
Burg Eltz

Marksburg
Said to be the best-preserved on the Rhine, Marksburg is the only hill castle on the Rhine that has never been destroyed.

Rhine River Trips
Your coach will drop you off at one of the numerous departure points in the area and meet you further along the river whilst you enjoy the sights of the Rhine from a different vantage point.

Cochem
Join a guided tour of the spectacular Reichsburg Castle, take a chairlift ride or visit the Cochem swimming complex with a wave pool and giant 55-metre flume.

Koblenz
Situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle, full of historic buildings, cosy lanes and narrow alleyways. Take an energetic climb (or the chairlift) to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.

Rudesheim
Here you could visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Museum, visit a wine museum or take the cable car to the nearby Niederwald Monument.
Itinerary Example
DAY 1: Travel from your departure point to the Channel coast for a crossing to Calais or Dunkirk. The journey to the Rhine/Moselle area will take approximately seven hours from Calais, depending on the location of your chosen accommodation. Arrive at your accommodation in time for the evening meal.
DAY 2: A full day excursion on the Rhine with a wide selection of visits to choose from. You may wish to take a steamer trip along the river and visit the picturesque towns of Boppard and St. Goar, see the medieval Marksburg Castle, or explore Rüdesheim.
DAY 3: A full day excursion in the Moselle Valley. Possible visits could include Cochem and its impressive castle, Burg Eltz, and Koblenz with the Deutsches Eck and Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.
DAY 4: Another full day of visits which could include Germany’s premier theme park, Phantasialand (admissions not included), or perhaps a visit to Cologne with its famous cathedral and Chocolate Museum.
DAY 5: After breakfast, depart for your return journey to Calais or Dunkirk before continuing back to your original departure point, arriving mid to late evening.
