PLACES TO VISIT
St. Vitus Cathedral
This Roman Catholic cathedral, the seat of the Archbishop of Prague, is situated within the grounds of Prague Castle.
Prague Castle
The complex itself is said to be the largest in the world. The history of the castle dates back to the 9th century, having been rebuilt a number of times following wars and fires.
The Jewish Quarter
Known locally as Josefov, located between the Vltava River and the Old Town, the area’s history dates back to the 13th century when the Prague Jewish community were ordered to leave their homes and settle in one area.
Jewish Museum, Prague
Originally created at the beginning of the 20th century to preserve artefacts from the Prague synagogues demolished during the reconstruction of the Jewish Town, today’s museum is located over six sites and includes synagogues and a cemetery.
Old Jewish Cemetery
Located in Josefov, the former Jewish Quarter, and dating from the early 15th century, there are around 12,000 tombstones yet it is estimated as many as 100,000 Jews are buried in multi-layered graves.
Museum of Communism
This museum offers students the opportunity to see how the former country of Czechoslovakia used to be during its communist rule.
Lidice
A village 20km west of Prague where, in 1942, the Nazis shot dead the male inhabitants and the women and children were sent to extermination and concentration camps.
Prague Old Town
Filled with a number of churches, houses and other buildings dating back to the 13th century. It was here in 1989 the protest meeting took place that led to the Velvet Revolution and the end of communist rule.
Charles Bridge
This 14th century stone bridge spans the River Vltava and links the two sides of Prague.

Day 1 – Fly to Prague
Your journey begins with a flight from the UK to the beautiful Czech capital of Prague. On arrival, you will be met by your coach and transferred to your accommodation.
Subject to your flight schedule, enjoy your first opportunity to explore this captivating city. Day 2 – Guided Walking Tour of Prague
After breakfast: meet your expert local guide for an included morning walking tour of Prague. Discover over 1,000 years of history as you explore one of Europe's best-preserved medieval cities. Learn about Prague's royal past, Gothic architecture, Jewish heritage and the events that shaped the modern Czech Republic.
In the afternoon: free for independent sightseeing, allowing you to explore at your own pace. Visit one of Prague's fascinating museums, enjoy spectacular views from Prague Castle, browse the city's shops or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage city.

Day 3 – Excursion to Lidice
Following breakfast: travel by coach to the village of Lidice, one of the Czech Republic's most important Second World War memorial sites.
Your visit tells the moving story of the destruction of Lidice by Nazi forces in 1942 following the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. Explore the memorial, museum and peaceful gardens dedicated to the victims while gaining a deeper understanding of the impact of war on civilian communities.
Return to Prague in the afternoon where you will have free time for further sightseeing, shopping or exploring more of the city's historic districts.

Day 4 – Return to the UK
After breakfast: enjoy some final free time in Prague depending on your return flight schedule. Pick up souvenirs, revisit your favourite sights or enjoy one last stroll through the city's historic streets.
At the appropriate time, your coach will transfer you to Prague Airport for your return flight to the UK, bringing your memorable Prague city break to a close.
